ELEPHANTIASIS IS NOT ONLY LYMPHATIC FILARIASIS / CAMPAIGN TO PREVENT ELEFANTIASIS DUE TO PRIMARY AND SECONDARY LYMPHEDEMA / CHRONIC AND PROGRESSIVE LYMPHOSTIC DISEASES / PREVENTION AND AWARENESS CAMPAIGN / リンパ浮腫の発症 および有病率に関する情報

Every day people around the world develop lymphatic disorders known as Primary and Secondary Lymphedema. Elephantiasis is the worst degree that this disease can progress towards, and it is essential that those affected have access to specialized treatment early.

In many European and industrialized countries, lymphedema patients receive specialized physiotherapy treatment (TDC) and are given the compression garments necessary to retain the progression of the condition. On the other hand, we find that in poor regions of Africa, India, South America, Asia and Third World countries, treatment for most of these people is non-existent or minimal, based simply on the recommendation of the use of sandals, and washing and elevation of limbs. These patients with lymphatic filariasis do not have access to the necessary professional lymphatic drainage, multilayer bandages or the necessary compression garments, indispensable for the reduction and retention of the progression of the condition and thus to be able to carry out their normal day to day activities.

Campaigns by international organizations and public awareness are necessary and essential to prevent Elephantiasis due to lymphatic disorders, whether a result of poor circulation, traumas, interventions, insects or people being born with the disease. Those affected need treatment to lead a good quality of life, and be safeguarded from a dramatic future that the progression of the disease leads to. Not only Lymphatic Filariasis leads to Elephantiasis.

Primary and Secondary Lymphedemas also leads to elephantiasis

Elephantiasis is not only due to filariasis

Lymphatic disorders are a disease

Prevention is essential
